Upgrade my CPU or no?

With all the games coming out this fall (such as Battlefield 4) I'm wondering if my i5 2500k will be enough? I currently run Battlefield 3 pretty good, but I also play Planetside 2 and that doesn't run as pretty/smoothly.

My current specs: i5 2500k
Z68 Ext3 gen3
8gb 1600
XFX 7870
600w psu

Should I stick with what I got? Or get an i7 3770k? I've heard i7's aren't really an improvement over the i5's for gaming. Is that true?

The i5 2500k wont give you any real improvements over the i7. If you need improvements thats all gonna have to come from your graphics card.

You would see much more improvement from a HD7970 or GTX770 than you would from a i7.

maybe your on line connection? this an open world mega player game?
you should be able to play it. maybe try over clocking the cpu a little?

what ram are you running? maybe you can over clock that before messing with the cpu?
