Upgrade my cpu

Hi I have a 2400 And wondering if I should upgrade to a i3 6100
Specs are:
8gb ram gtx 1050ti 1tb hdd
I will have to upgrade my mobo and ram but that is no big deal

so just to be sure I understand you have a i5-2300? and wonder if you should upgrade to an I3-6100?

why would you want to upgrade to a cpu that is barely faster than what you have, has no turbo mode and for the money barely gives you 5-10% speed increase (see below scores)

if you are yo upgrade from your I5-2300 then you want to go to a Intel Core i5-6500 to get Mobo and DDR4 performance, not really to upgrade to a new CPU. I know it is counter intuitive, but if your a gamer going from I5-2300 to I3-6100 you will regret it.

PS: if your trying to get B or Z series motherboard and DDR4 and want a i3-6100 then I suggest you save your money and get a G4560 instead. Then later upgrade to I5-6500(K)
