As the title states, I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card. I've currently got me eye on a GTX 1060 6gb as the price is in my range and will serve most of my gaming needs. My biggest issue right now is whether it will be compatiable with my current pc, without having to modify too many things; aside from my psu.

Any and all advice is welcome!

Here is another PSU that is a little better and more efficient, but cost a little bit more. Either will do the job fine.

Yeah, it will work and is compatible. You may want to get a PSU though as the PSUs in prebuilt systems are not very good and may not support the addition of the 1060.

The only issue you may have is the length of the GPU. Some of those mATX prebuilt cases don't have a lot of room. So you would need to measure from the back PCIe connection (where the GPU is hooked up) to the front of the case, stopping if anything gets in the way. So if you have HDD cages or something along those lines it will shorten the GPU supported length.

If the length turns out to be an issue, just get a "mini" 1060 that is shorter. It does not cool as well but will run just fine.

Thank you for help. My next question is, what would be an appropriate PSU? I've done a bit of testing on PSU calculators, but am still not sure if they're quality.

This is what I was recommended:

Upon further research of it, I found that it may not be the best quality. If you have any suggestions, that would supply the same amount of power at a similar cost, I would appreciate it.

Yeah, the EVGA BQ is not a great PSU. This is a decent budget PSU that will work fine with your system.

Hello there, I was looking to upgrade the same pc (M51AC) with a gtx 1050 TI but ran into a lot of problem the main one being that the BIOS didn't recognise the graphics card. Did you manage to upgrade with your GTX 1060 ? And if yes could you tell me if you had any issues installing it ?
