Right now I have a single 970 with my 2500k running at 4.5 with a watercooler. I was looking to buying the new i7 6700k and asus z170A board with 16gb of DDR4 ram. After looking at reviews of the i5 still to this day, some say getting a new cpu wouldnt be worth it. For the money I can easily get another 970. What is the communitys opinion on this?

Thanks in advance!

I just went from a 2600k at 4.5Ghz to a 6700K at 4.6Ghz. In games I get higher minimum frame rates but not more than a 5FPS gain overall. And I had a P67 motherboard with PCI-E 2.0 so that was a slight but measurable bottleneck for my 980 Ti. I mostly upgraded for the new motherboard features.
