hello guys
i have this old PC here are the specs
ASUS P7P55D LE
2x2giga ram
power supply 350w(total output power)
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 860 @ 2.80GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.8GHz
GPU don't know (DxDiag says AMD Radeon HD 5450 but when i searched for it it looks different from the one i have)
i wanna upgrade it for gaming
what are the key components to change in order for me to start playing new games
my budget is 150 to 200 dollar each month

Solution

The problem is, whatever RAM your current motherboard can use, will not work with any motherboard you may want to use later.
GPU swap could be done, but as cisco001 already mentioned, you would need new PSU first.
The Thing is, your ASUS P7P55D LE motherboard already has the best CPU it can handle

I suggest you getting a full make up before wasting any monies, what would be you budget for this upgrade?
I would figure out the full upgrade you want and need, save the money or do like many of us do, buy the parts as they come on sale etc and make a pile post picture of them on the members hardware upgrades in here...

then built it.

I suggest :

i understand that i need to replace all the components
but i don't have that kind of money now
what if i change the Memory i have to Vulcan(2x8GB)
and change the video card to GTX 1060
will that make any difference in performance ? can i even put these components on my mother board??
just for few month then i will buy the power supply and the rest

If you want to upgrade RAM, don't get 2x8GB.
Go to eBay and find some cheap 2 x 2GB for temporary use to make it 8GB overall. (I assume you have 2 x2gb right now)
You won't able to reuse those RAM for new platform. Don't waste money.

As others say, no point in buying old RAM for outdated Mobo when you would soon need to replace Mobo and CPU -- and RAM again. I understand wanting to upgrade now, but if you can save $150+ per month you could buy a new system in short order, depending on how high you aim.

I'm in the same boat. I've done what I can with my current Mobo. Any upgrade worth the cost will require a new Mobo, CPU, RAM. So it's a major cost. Luckily my current system will be fine for 2+ more years so I can afford to wait and slowly save.

Have patience, young Padawan. Save up enough for a new core.
