Hello all! I am looking to get the most out of my amd 1100T so Ill list my components real quick.

antec 900 w/ stock fans
asus m4a89gtd pro/usb3
amd phenom II x6 black edition with spinQ heatsink
2X4 Gigs corsair vengeance 1600 (not OC'd)
2X1tb sata @ 7200rpm (no raid)
Radeon 6950 saphire (still looking for 6970 unlock and maybe crossfire)
corsair 800w psu

I want to get an aftermarket heatsink for my 6950, get faster ram, get an SSD, and most importantly i want to get one of the best motherboards out there for amd. I will be upgrading to a full tower case with e-atx if e-atx is the way to go. Also, I read a little on how some CPUs cannot communicate well with some types of ram so please, only make suggestions if you know what you are talking about.

Your Ram is fine but you could move upto 16gb's of ram if you wish with something like G.Skill 1866mhz ram

One of the best motherboards you could either go with a GA-990FX-UDx range from gigabyte or the Asus Crosshair V series.

An SSD will offer you the best improvement to speed , which much faster load times.

And regards to aftermarket cooling for the 6950 , consider doing this really soon as with the newer cards out , cooling solution choices usually start to get hard to get, specially if your PCB is not a reference design

You don't need a new mobo, and 8GB of RAM is more than enough for gaming (I use 2GB of DDR2 with a similar setup thanks to a stick dying).

What's your budget on a SSD?

Crossfire 6970 may bottleneck a bit, but you may still see a performance increase. I'd upgrade to Intel when you go crossfire.

Is your 6970 running too hot?

well i have a 6950 but im trying to get help unlocking to 6970. From what ive heard my mobo wont like intel and for an ssd probably around $100 but if there is one you would highly recommend than i may spend more.

Exactly what 6950 do you have? Not all of them unlock.

Correct about the motherboard, you need an Intel chipset/socket motherboard for an Intel CPU. You were wanting to buy a new mobo anyways, so I was just saying for when you need crossfire to get an Intel chipset mobo.

SSD:

And about the case, have you seen a full tower before? They're HUGE. A mid tower case is more than enough space unless you're using over 6 hard drives.

I wish i had a better camera but i was stuck with my phone. The UV lights really make the yellow glow. Hopefully i can stop by microcenter and pick up some more of it later this week. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yAy9J2Du_84&context=C4de6a35ADvjVQa1PpcFOJmRGuw1z1icIhl1iL5qadSoYljBXhXqo=
