Upgrade my Windows 7 tablet?

Windows Store and apps only works with monitors of 1024x768.

At this point, should I upgrade my 2yo 1024x600 Windows 7 tablet for an update that isn't AS great as I would have hoped? Or should I grab the cheap upgrade deal and, well, deal with it?

What are the benefits beyond the Windows Store and apps?

All opinions welcome!

I think Windows 8 would help on a tablet. It's much more user friendly on a touch screen device and runs faster on low spec systems than Windows 7. The Windows Store and the Apps aren't a big deal. They are basically just MS trying to monopolize programs. You can pin regular programs to the start menu anyway.

EDIT: I reread your post and I'm not sure what you mean. Are the options either:
a. Buy a new Windows 8 tablet.
b. Upgrade your 7 tablet to Win 8
?

If so, either would be alright. As I said previously, the Windows Store isn't that good, so you should be fine. If your budget allows, obviously a new device would be better though.

Hi, thanks for answering.

No I just wanted to upgrade my Windows 7 tablet. It's a pretty powerful little machine considering it's a tablet, even if it's 2yo.

I think I will buy the Windows 8 upgrade :)

Thanks again!
