Upgrade Old BX6

Hi,

I have an old Abit BX6 running an original Celeron 266 at 450MHz. I would like to upgrade the processor to one of the newer Pentium 3s. I would prefer to stay with the Slot 1 to make things simple. What is the difference between the SECC1 and SECC2 specs for Slot 1. Looking at pricewatch I see that I can get a 600 MHz or so for the Slot 1, but I'm not sure that the SECC2 will work in my motherboard.

Suggestions? Your help is appreciated!

Thanks,

Doubtful. The old Celeron 266s did not have a cache. You have one external to the chip and that'd the limiting factor. You might try and place a post to see what people here have been able to do with a P2 300.
