Starting another thread since I've come into some money and am looking to upgrade parts of my build. Mainly, I was looking for new ram, motherboard, and could even replace the CPU with an i9. My gaming has slowed down a bit so I'm in no need for anything other than components to make my build a bit faster for school and a few games here and there. Also! If you have recommendations on a better casing that is small/med. size that would be great! I have a carbide series Air 540 Arctic White High Airflow ATX cube case right now and it is too bulky for my desk. I appreciate anything and everything!

Thanks Guys!

Solution
Your current system is pretty good already, with the exception of the one dead RAM stick. You could go with a larger SSD. If you wanted to change your case the only way to get really less bulky would be to do a case, cpu, ram, and motherboard change to something like a miniITX. The Fractal Design Nano S is a nice miniITX case.

You would reuse your GPU, SSD, and HDDs in this with the SATA SSD being the OS/Application drive, the NVMe being for games, and the HDDs for bulk storage. I don't know what you have for a PSU but this is a good one.

Interesting! I never even considered a mini build.. I'll be keeping that in mind as well! Thanks!

Also.. That case would be GPU friendly if I use my 1080? I'm just asking because I'm highly considering getting this build lol

Look through the specifications for length and see if it works with your GPU. The case supports dual slot GPUs. I would also say throw in another 140mm Fractal Design Dynamic GP14 case fan to the front for more intake cooling.

CPU cooler recommendations? I'm worried of buying one too big for the case.

I would just use the stock cooler if you don't plan on overclocking at all. If you do want to overclock then the max CPU cooler height of the non-windowed case is 162mm and the max height of the windowed is 160mm. With that info you can put in a Noctua D14 or D15S into either case as those coolers are 160mm tall.
