I recently picked this up from craigslist, and am wondering what my ram and video options are for this model. Im still new to all of this and dont want to get any wrong parts that wont work or fit

System Specs: http://

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

You will need a low profile card, of course. Check and see if this is the nameplate on your PSU: http://www.ctsestore.com/sites/default/files/styles/pic_wm/public/HP_Compaq_DC5800_SFF_PowerSupply_2.jpg

If so, one of these GT 730 64 bit DDR5 low profile cards is about as fast as will be avaialable for you to run safely with that 240W PSU. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007709%20600038363%20600038364%20600007799%204814%20600007797&IsNodeId=1&Description=gt%20730&name=Desktop%20Graphics%20Cards&Order=BESTMATCH&isdeptsrh=1

Here is the manual for working in the PC if you need it: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=3&ved=0ahUKEwjU1b-V2YnKAhVH6SYKHbuAD0QQFggqMAI&url=http%3A%2F%2Fstatic.highspeedbackbone.net%2Fpdf%2FDC5800%2520Hardware%2520Reference%2520Guide.pdf&usg=AFQjCNHofX8ibnU264quZe188Vwrz8K3SQ&sig2=d_vtmLQNbHtLfdaRgMLINw&cad=rja

These are the CPUs listed in their assembly manual for your PC. They are all long ago obsolete and will have to be searched out used someplace like ebay. There may be others, but you'll have to contact Compaq or hit their forum to know for sure. In that list, the Q6600 is probably the fastest.

Thank you very much! It looks like the GT730 will definitely be the winner. Im just using this one while I work on building a computer. Just would like my DAW to not lag and be able to play a few low end games

It appears that the MSI video card is the best. Will that one work for me? What's the difference between them?

Hello. My sister also have an old HP Compaq dc5800 Small Form Factor. It originally came with Windows XP (Downgraded from Windows Vista). Since the support for Windows XP has already expired, recently I installed Windows 10 on her PC. I noticed that it feels slow running Windows 10 on that PC.

I would like to replace the motherboard and processor of the PC, but I am not sure whether it is mini ITX or micro ATX. I tried to google, but so far all the website that I visited don't list the motherboard dimension for HP Compaq dc5800 Small Form Factor.

Can anyone of you help me determine the size of the motherboard (mini-ITX or micro-ATX) that I should install in the HP Compaq dc5800 Small Form Factor?

Thank you.
