Hi.

I'm looking to upgrade my computer for better gaming results.

Right now I'm trying to play Gears 5 but I'm having to turn down the graphics settings to get good FPS running at 2560x1440.

I'm thinking my GPU is the bottleneck right now, but I'm not sure if it can be upgraded with my current motherboard?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Your motherboard is fine. PCIe is forward and backward compatible (on the last few iterations of it anyways.)

You should worry more about your power supply when upgrading your GPU. What power supply do you have?

What's your budget? It gets expensive trying to outperform a GTX 1080. I'd say at least a 2070 Super, but probably more like a 2080 Super or 2080 Ti.
