Question Upgrade options advice ?

Please could I have advice on what order is best to upgrade between CPU and GPU? unfortunately needs to be on a sensible budget (under £400 each) and one thing at a time, but advice outside of this would also be gratefully received. every day use but I still try to dabble with games so I would like speed and improve framerates.

I have:

Motherboard - B550 Gaming Edge Wifi
CPU - 5600x
GPU - RX5700
RAM - 16GB DDR4

Monitor is an LG 43-inch TV.

What is your current performance and what is the target performance?
More specifically, do you want more fps or higher quality settings?

Best CPU you can buy is the R9 5950X.
Slightly cheaper and slightly better option for gaming is the R7 5800X3D.

If that's a fairly recent one, you're good to go regarding a 7800xt.

What kinds of games do you play?
Fast action games want fast graphics cards.
Cpu centric games want faster single thread cpu performance.
Try this simple test:
Run YOUR games, but lower your resolution and eye candy.
This makes the graphics card loaf a bit.
If your FPS increases, it indicates that your cpu is strong enough to drive a better graphics configuration.
If your FPS stays the same, you are likely more cpu limited.

For a graphics upgrade, look for a big jump or you may be disappointed if you do not see magical results.

Avoid factory overclocked cards which your psu may not be able to handle.
You get fair value at any price point when comparing AMD and Nvidia.
Since you are an amd user, stick with amd. There is a learning curve to change.

You have no real good cpu upgrades using your current motherboard.
You can buy more threads, but not a big jump in single thread performance.
Run the cpu-Z bench on your 5600X.
You should see a score like 624:

Some might argue for the 5800X3d if the ONLY thing you do is gaming and no multitasking.

Turn down detail levels to low and see if you get the fps you want. If so then get a better card. I have the 6800xt which is basically the older version of the 7800xt, pretty similar performance and it’s a great card.

Unless you’re doing a lot of multitasking I don’t know if I’d upgrade your cpu or not. Part of me says new platform but you might see a little benefit from a 5800x3d.

the 5700X3D is a bit cheaper and offers about the same performance.

The 6750XT is a great 1080p card. But i would suggest you wait for the next gen Nvidia/AMD GPUs this Christmas
