Hello kings, I've been wondering if I should upgrade my pc or either buy another one.

My current rig is:
-Nvidia GTX 970 4GB
-Intel I5 4570 3.2 Ghz
-8 GB RAM (2x4GB DDR3 Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C8)
-GIGABYTE Z87-HD3 -SSD 250GB SAMSUNG 840 PRO
-HDD 2TB WDCWD20EZRX00DC0B0

Quite an oldie, but damn it was good on it's time, I'm suprised I could even rock Metro Exodus on this on high settings. I would like to upgrade it so I can play VR (specially VRChat) and high demanding games like BFV or Hunt Show Down, and the likes.

So I can't really decide either sell the parts and build a new one or straight buy another one.
However, there's some second hand PC's (but don't know if it's recommended to buy those) that look interesting, I've been checking these rigs (they're around 850€):
1)
-CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 OC @ 3.8 Ghz
-MOBO: Gigabyte AB350-Gaming 3 AM4
-RAM 16 GB DDR4 2666MHZ
-GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1080 G1 Gaming 8GB
-HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB+ Corsair MX3000 275GB M.2 SSD
-PS: Coolermaster B600

2) -CPU: Intel I7 8700k @ 3.7 Ghz
-MOBO: MSI Z370 Gaming Plus
-RAM: 16 GB (8x2) 3000Mhz
-GPU: Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB
-HDD: 1TB, 250GB SSD
-PS: OwloTech 750W

3) -CPU: Intel I7-7700K @ 4.8 Ghz
-MOBO: MSI Z270 Gaming Pro Carbon
-RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200 16GB 2x8GB CL16
-GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060 Windforce OC 6GB GDDR5
-HDD: Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500 GB
-PS: EVGA Supernova G2L 750W 80 Plus Gold Modular
(This one comes with watercooling: Lepa AquaChanger 240)

There are other ones but they get way too expensive, I really would appreciate if you could help me with this one, I heard ryzens are actually ok, but tbh, I'm not really into pc building.
Thanks for reading my post, have a good day, bro.

Ok, the truth is that its not worth upgrading a ddr3 build(i mean gpu or a better cpufrom this era) . You can keep tha case, power supply, drives and upgrade everything else. Ryzen 5 3600, gtx 1660ti or even rtx 2060 and some ddr4 3200 ram will be perfect. (you can cheap out on cpu and buy an ryzen 5 2600 or smthing like this)
On the other hand, the builds you posted are ok BUT: the first build has a quite weak cpu(ryzen 5 1500x) for the 1080, it will be ok but it can do better. The 7700k built isnt worth in my opinion. Powerful gaming cpu and only a 1060 6gb like the other pc with the 8700 and the 1060 6gb. Strangly made builts. If you dont upgrade your rig, buy the 8700k one and change the gpu in the future. It will handle very well.
