I currently have a rig that I built about 4 years ago, I’m wanting to upgrade or build a new rig for around 1200$ usd.
My current specs: g3258 5ghz, gtx 960 ftw, 550 w bronze evga, I haven’t stayed in touch with the new cpus coming out, preferably Intel builds please! Thanks!

With that CPU you have a 8x or 9x series motherboard. That is a DDR3 generation CPU. I think it is time to retire that and get a DDR4 based system. An i5-9xxx series CPU with a 300 series motherboard. 16GB RAM. A 500GB or 1TB SSD. You could probably keep the GTX960 for a while.

I'd say a new rig would be easily doable with that kind of budget.
