I have a core i5 2500k overclocked at 4.2 with 4.5 turbo and a motherboard that has a pcie 3.0 x16 and a pcie 2.0 x16 slots. I have two radeon hd 7770's crossfired. Right now the one slot that can do pice 3.0 is being bottlenecked to pcie 2.0 by the processor . So my question is would it be worth my time and money to upgrade to a core i7 3770k that has the ability to handle the pcie 3.0 slot? Would it greatly increase my graphics performance?

no. it has been proven time and time again that going from pci-e 2.0 to 3.0 doesn't yield any noticeable benefits. current gen gpu's hasn't hit any bottlenecks yet that can be circumvented by using pci-e 3.0. so dont even bother with it.

No, very few graphics cards actually use all the bandwidth of a 2.0 pci slot. In fact I'm not sure if anything does. I do belive that the GTX 690 is bottlenecked by pci 1.0. Check out this chart-http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Intel/Ivy_Bridge_PCI-Express_Scaling/6.html
