My current system specs are

i7-920
xfx x58 mobo
corsair xm3 6gb ram
750w psu
radeon hd5870

should i upgrade? i was thinking about upgrading to the p67 mobo but i heard its probably not worth it that i should wait for the x79, but either way i am going to upgrade the graphics card, i will either put another radeon card in crossfire or sell it and switch to nvidia, any ideas? oh and i cant overclock anything on this mobo some kind of xfx error so everything is stock speed, i will be using this system for gaming and would like to be able to run games like the witcher 2 and upcoming games at max settings

With your current system you can probably max out 99% of the games out there. For the other 1%, you can probably play them at close to max settings, ( just tinker around with the settings to get better performance at a trivial cost to visual fidelity)

I would not recommend an upgrade yet. If you want to upgrade anyway, i would only consider upgrading your graphics, your i7-920 won't really bottleneck you even at stock. I would wait for ivy-bridge.
If you can find a 58xx series card at a good price then crossfire would not be a bad idea. If you want new graphics cards altogether, i would only go for something like gtx 590 or its sli/crossfire equivalent, otherwise it would not be a worthwhile upgrade.

alright thanks for ur input and i was able to max out everything up till about a year ago then high graphics games started becoming more demanding, think this is off topic but does anyone know if the xfx x58i boards overclocking problem was fixed and where i can find updates to it and im also taking oother inputs about my original question thanks
