Upgrade or overclock?

Hi guys, with Fallout 4 quickly approaching I have been contemplating an upgrade to ensure I can run it flat out. I am, however, strapped for cash and want to know if it's just worth overclocking instead. I'm running a i7 2700k and a Gigabyte 7970 OC. Thoughts??

You could give a generous overclock fairly safely with that cooler as the h80 is quite reliable and it keeps things nice and cool. I wouldn't recommend going anywhere out of 4.2 or 4.3Ghz. Honestly, I doubt you would even need to overclock this thing. Overclocking is out of my comfort zone, and I'm fairly stubborn when it comes to messing with my PC so if you really want to overclock (Which is an option. You have a decent cooler) then I would advise you to look up a few guides or videos on YouTube just to make sure that nothing goes wrong in the process. There are plenty of tutorials out there on the web and a few are guaranteed to tell you what you need.

I would try overclocking first. The H80i (assuming installed correctly) is great for overclocking.
