So I was going to start a new high-end gaming rig build with an i7 and all the bells and whistles, but then I realized that my current pc isn't really struggling to perform. Granted, I play Company of Heroes 2 and DayZ; not the most demanding games. The rig is about 3 years old, I got a new gpu last year as well as a 2nd ssd, and she's holding up well.
Currently:

FX-8320 oc'd 4.4ghz *stable*
Asus m5a99fx Pro 2.0 mobo
Hyper 212 Evo
16gb ddr3 ram
Samsung 850 512gb ssd
Intel 240gb ssd
Asus GTX 970 STRIX
750w Evga PSU
Win 7

Would it be worth purchasing a second gtx970 and setting then up in SLI?

Also, if I did choose to SLI, does it have to be a Asus gtx970 strix?

Or could I add one of these guys?

Thanks!

Solution
I belive a GTX 970 is a GTX 970 ; as long as the bridge connection is in the same spot on both which I believe it should be, then they can be connected and used together.

As far as it being worth it, I don't think so. I would wait until you are dissatisfied with it's performance then build a PC around the recommended and beyond specs of your most demanding games that you want to play well.
