Question Upgrade Path Help Requested

Today I've got a 1080 TI SC and am running a triple monitor setup @ 3072x768 , these monitors of 8+ years old they are 28" HannsG with max resolutions of 1920x1200 native. I see very little image quality difference between 3072x768 and 1920x1200 other than everything is smaller and the slightest of sharpening if I look really close in some spots.

I've got a 3930k processor which appears to be bottle-necking my system, so recently ordered 10600K, Hero VII board, and new ddr hyper X memory, will keep the 1080ti until the 3080/309 are released. Question I have is I want to get 3 , 32" either 1080p or 1440p monitors,

On my current setup if I switch to 1080p I can't get decent fps in many games enough to play but it is acceptable for me @ 3072x768 - I don't care about reaching 60fps so long as the game is smooth. My triple screens are really chewing up my ability though to gain higher FPS.

With this info in mind and the new hardware coming would I benefit any from 3 new 1080p or 1440p monitors? If I go with 1440p and want to instead run in 1080p is it going to suffer image quality issues? Today I'm downscaling my resolution and it seems fine to me but I also probably have never seen really good either so have nothing to compare it to.

more monitors dont affect fps in anyway possible.You just simply drag tabs to multiple displays,other than them staying on 1.A 1440p wont suffer from displaying 1920x1080,its just a resolution option.My second monitors native resolution is 1366x768,yet i run it at 1280x1024 just fine,if not better.How much would you like to spend on those 3 monitors.What refresh rate (hz) do you want them to be?Do you want to have 1 gaming and 2 meh monitors,or 3 gaming monitors?

Hi Djoza, I'm actually eyeing the AOC 32" curved displays and using 3 to replace the ones I've got now. They are 144 hz but I can't imagine running much triple-screen surround that going to get to 144 fps at least until new hardware comes out (3090 ti maybe).

I don't run these as separate monitors rather I'm using NVIDIA surround to make it one big screen. I'd go with the 1440p if I was absolutely sure lowering the resolution won't impact the quality, I may end up back at what I'm now 3072x768 and with the increase in size from 28" to 32" per monitor was not real sure what that would look like.
