Good evening.
I would like to upgrade to my now dated good old gaming pc. By not spending too much, I thought I was going to budget about 300/400 euros.
Here is the PC:

POWER SUPPLY: POWER LC6650GP3 ATX 12V V2.3

CPU: Intel Core i7 4790 @ 3.60GHz

RAM: 16,0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 799MHz

Motherboard: Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. Z97X-UD3H-CF

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970

Storage: 232GB Samsung SSD 850 EVO 250GB (SATA (SSD))
931GB Western Digital WDC WD10EZRX-00L4HB0 (SATA )

Case: https://www.amazon.it/Sharkoon-VG4-V...7F256FDB6EB438

Monitor: Benq XL2411P (144hz)

I mainly play FPS like CS-GO, APEX, COD, FORTNITE etc. I would like to improve the frame rates per second a bit especially on apex and cod which remain low .. around 80 fps.
I play all the games with everything to a minimum trying to improve performance more than graphics.

I have a friend who has just changed motherboard and would pass me his old one for a 40 euro because he had compatibility problems with his video card: Asus prime b 350 plus.
Worth it?

Thank you in advance,
Nemuke

Little update:
A friend of me want to upgrade his pc too and he would pass me a Ryzen 5 1600x (+ artic freezer heatsink) and a GPU RX 580 nitro 8gb

what do u think about it?

and is it compatible with the Asus Prime b 350 Plus Mobo?

thank you guys

How much would all that used stuff cost you? My fear here is that a 1600X is not much/any improvement compared to your i7-4790. The RX580 is only going to be about 15% faster than your GTX970.

Asus prime b 350 plus = 40 euro
RX580 Nitro = ?
Ryzen 1600X + cooler = ?
You'd have to buy DDR4 RAM

I suspect you're hitting a CPU limiting issue since you're running at low settings and 80fps. Two easy tests to prove this:
  • open your favorite usage % monitoring tool and see if the CPU or GPU is showing something less than 75% usage while the other is near 100%
  • Change in-game settings to medium and/or high. If frame rates don't decrease significantly, you're CPU-limited.

Hi,
sorry for the late answer, btw CPU+GPU for 150€. Today I take them to try them out. If all is fine I take new RAM from amazonia.

I tryed some monitoring tool : GPU is always 100% and CPU go from 60 to 80% even with better graphic setting fps don't drop much just cpu go a little bit higher. Is it a CPU-limited?
