Question Upgrade PC

Hello there,

I was wondering if it would be worth it to upgrade my PC or is it a total waste of time? I play games such as Squad, Hell Let Loose, ARMA 3, Post Scriptum.
I don't need a system that can handle 4k at +60FPS but just a decent framerate on high settings. Would it be worth the money or is my system just too old and I am better off with a new one?

Thanks in advice!

It depends, if I can get a stable framerate on high settings in the games I mentioned. I would maybe give it a €500 max investment. If it's more I think it would be wise to just save up for a new system? But, I am open for suggestions.

Didn't see any images there.

Ok, what you can upgrade on your system ..
RAM - to 16GB,
If there is no SSD for OS, then get one - 250GB at least (Samsung 860 evo, Crucial Mx500),
Get a better graphics card. GTX 1660ti perhaps?

Should be able to fit all that into €500 limit.

I got Windows installed on a 128GB SSD and got an extra 1TB HDD. I was thinking to upgrade my RAM to CORSAIR 16GB 1600MHZ DDR3 (that should be compatible with my system I guess?). But someone told me not all new graphics cards would work on my motherboard, something to do with BIOS? Where should I look for so I don't end up buying a card I can't use.

Yes the RAM and graphics card would be second hand. So I am better of with a GTX 1660 TI for example then? I could also get a second hand Gigabyte GTX 1070 8GB for €150.

I found a Gigabyte GTX1070 8GB for €125 and Kingston 2x8GB DDR3 1600 Mhz for €50. So it would be a upgrade for €175. It's second hand but I know their adress so I will take the risk I guess. I think this would be a massive upgrade from my current system and I could play most of the games on high correct?

Bought the GTX1070 8GB for €190 and ordered 2x4GB extra RAM for €40. What a difference, everything maxed out on 60FPS+. RAM coming in on tuesday so I will see another slight difference. Thanks everyone you were more than helpful!

Be careful to mount ram as following: 1) OLD ram on channel A and NEW ram on channel B
or 2) NEW ram on channel A and OLD ram on channel B
Dont mix sets because you will get BSODs. When i say mix sets i mean one stick from new set and one stick from old set on a channel and same on the other channel.
If you dont know channel configuration from your motherboard search it in the motherboard manual at RAM section.

Thanks I didnt knew that. Found the section layout of the MB in the manual so I'll keep it in mind.
