I have a
HP SLIM DESKTOP 290-P0XXX/V0G92Hu with 180 watt power supply. I want to add a video card in the available slot but it requires a power supply that needs 300 watt power supply.
I want to install a
SilverStone Technology 300 Watt TFX Computer Power Supply with 80 Plus Bronze and One PCIe Connector SST-TX300-USA

Will this work as long as they are the same dimensions. Also will the Moterboard take this added wattage?

Solution
Can you show a photo of your motherboard?
Small motherboards may have proprietary psu connections.

What gpu do you plan to install?
I would not use one that had need of a pcie 6 pin connector.

Assuming your motherboard is compatible with the psu, 300w is fine.
The motherboard and graphics card will only draw the power demanded of it, regardless of the max psu capability.

This power supply has a 4 pin and my mother board has a 4 pin for power supply. MY MAIN question is will the Motherboard support the increased power.
