(I have no knowledge in building a computer but I research/study before I ask here as a last resort)
Hi, so I'll give you a little background of my PC... Way back 2014 My father bought me this pre-built low med end PC. Now I planning to replace parts on it starting by the PSU & GPU.
The case of the PC is old style which is the PSU is in the top facing down (Case has no fan) & the old PSU is Aero Cool RAVE 500w.. Today the new PSU arrived SEASONIC Focus Plus Gold 750w and somehow I successfully managed to swap my old PSU to a new one.
Here the problems occurred.. In my old PSU I never really had a hot case when I'm gaming and I touch the side of the case or the top it's never hot but a little warm.. Also the back of the PSU (where the switch I/O is located) is just blowing warm air.. Now in my new PSU it's blowing hot air and the back of the PSU metal (where the switch I/O is located) is hot also the whole case the side and the top of the case is hot but not that hot that it burns my skin..
And because of that I just realized PSU's fan acts as intake and exhaust it on it's back.. If that's the case then why on my old PSU why my computer is not even hot?
So I just decided to just buy a new case where the PSU is at the bottom but my motherboard (GA-B85M-HD3-A-rev-10) has only 1 system_fan
https://www.gigabyte.com/us/Motherboard/GA-B85M-HD3-A-rev-10#sp as you can see in the specs and photos..
How do I make this work? I have searched that you can use adapter or splitter but does any adapter or splitter work on any motherboard or psu? I also have searched you can connect fan to your psu directly.. I have no idea how this works :/ not enough video & information online on how to do it.
Thanks for reading. My new GPU will be arriving soon so this case will probably be hotter I will just probably swap out the case too but this old motherboard preventing me from doing the easy way. I can't buy a new motherboard and cpu yet.
