I have just purchased
Ryzen 7700 + Thermalright AXP120-X67 BLACK ARGB Low Profile
MSI b650m gaming plus wifi
32 gb (2 x 16 gb) Gskill ddr5 ram (with RGB if that makes a difference

Running with a 2060 super
CORSAIR CS800 psu

When I try booting I get the CPU and the DDR light on the motherboard and nothing comes on can't get into bios

If I remove one of the rams it boots fine (albeit sometimes a delay?)

I have updated to the latest bios

I've tried both ram sticks individually and it can boot and tried all the slots on the motherboard and they work individually

Could this be a power issue?

The motherboard has two 8 pin power connectors for CPU but I'm only using one but didn't think this was mandatory

You sure you don't mean the GS800? How old is this unit and what did it power throughout it's time?

If you're lacking connectors for your components, then you either have the wrong PSU for the job or the wrong parts for your build, in which case you should've invested in a new PSU while you were going for your platform upgrade.

Yeah it's gs800 - thanks for the response - I'm starting to think that I should just get a new one - before I was running a Ryzen 5 2600 b450 - i purchased it about 6 years ago
Is your memory from a kit or 2 separate sticks??
Matched sets are guaranteed to work together.
Mixing memory, even if same type, does not always work with DDR4 or DDR5.
Hey thanks for the response - yeah it's the same kit purchased brand new I thought it was an issue with them but they both work independently fine.

The power supply is near end of life but you should be able to get it booted and running with it.
But at this point I would replace it, but that is my opinion.
The power supply is the most important part of a stable system.
GS was a mid range series so it should die gracefully like mine did. But with age a protection circuit may also fail and take out your new investment.
Why chance it?
