Upgrade Question: 770 or 780 sli from Titan

Currently I am running a GTX Titan and I really do enjoy the card. But with newer options coming out I am starting to look at the options.

I am looking into getting two new cards to run in SLI, either the 770 4g or the 780 ti 3gb. Obviously card for card the 780ti performs higher, but I am concerned about the lack of video memory on it because when run in SLI I am not getting more video ram, which right now my Titan has 6bg of video ram. Is it worth the...$400 extra that I would spend on two cards to get the 780ti's? Will I miss the extra video ram, especially from my titan? I guess another option, although not one I am favoring, I could get a second Titan (WHY HAVEN'T THEY DROPPED IN PRICE YET?!?)

Also then I have another question about monitors. Love this monitor but obviously there are better options available. Currently I am using this:

Which is an Asus 27' 120hz 2ms monitor, which I have absolutely loved and hadn't really considered replacing but my girlfriend could use a new monitor, so upgrading myself wouldn't be that bad, especially considering the new cards. What is the best way to go for monitors, 1440p or 144hz.

Also, G-sync, should I or not?

With regards as to whether you with the 780ti or 770 4gb for sli, I think the 780ti will be better. The 256-bit memory bus on the 770 ti prevents it from properly utilizing the 4GB of memory that it has. I personally have a gtx 770 4GB and when i have run my tests on Battlefield 4 for example I have found that although it goes over 2GB usage, there is no appreciable increase in performance over the 2GB (again this is due to the memory bus constraints). The 780ti may be a better option even though it is using 3GB, as it has a 384 bit memory bus which will allow it to fully utilize all its available memory. The only way i think you may miss the memory is if you were running a multi-monitor setup or 4k resolution. I personally have on of those Korean generic 1440p monitors that use a Samsung panel (Qnix 2560x1440) and i have it overclocked to 120Hz and it works brilliantly. Lastly Gsync is being provided to monitor manufacturers by Nvidia and will only be available on specific models.

I recently changed out my 2 titans for 3 of the 780Ti's and i do not regret it in the slightest. My build is posted in this. Vram isnt really an issue so long as you dont run AA on the highest setting. and overclockability is huge with these cards. well worth it in my opinion

also i actually had that exact monitor myself before getting my qnix 1440p monitors. 144 refresh wont be near as noticeable as a 1440p upgrade. and qnix monitors have alot of good overclocking reviews and I myself can attest that as well. all of mine are at 110hz. only one of them can't reach 120. But 110 is still nothing to laugh at.

Could you link to someplace that shows how to overclock a monitor? How will two 770's run this monitor at 120hz? Or would the two 780ti's be needed to run it?

overclocking a monitor isnt all that difficult. I overclocked mine using precision X from evga using the pixel clocker that can be found in the settings tab in the program. and yes that is my monitor. I can't think of any reason why 2 770's wont get the job done. I run 3 of these monitors, that's the only reason I have so many 780 Ti's.

Hey I looked up the model you showed there on the EVGA website and it states that it is has 256 bit memory. Here is the link: http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=04G-P4-3773-KR. The 256 bit memory interface is a restriction of the the GPU core and not the memory itself, so all 770 cards will have this restriction.

Well I suppose then I will be going with the 780 ti's sli if the memory bus is going to limit the 770's too much. Also I don't think I will be buying a new monitor, I am going to wait for a gsync monitor.

Not true..All 770s have the 256 memory bus with around 224 G/Bs or so but to be honest 2 770s will get the job done but if you want more gpu the gtx 780s or 780s ti will go beyond.
