Upgrade question from win8 to 10

Good day guys. Im using a 500gb hdd for my os. Now im planning to upgrade to ssd and install win10 to it. Will my apps from my hdd still work if i use a new ssd as my os drive? Or do i need to reformat and reinstall everything?

You can't do both at the same time....Upgrade to Win 10 and change drives.
One or the other first.

So...
Get get your current OS on the SSD, either clone or clean install
Upgrade to Win 10.
or
Upgrade to Win 10 on your current drive.
Install the SSD
Clone or clean install on the SSD.

Clean install either way will require reinstallation of all your applications.

Your games should be fine. I can't speak to the hundreds of thousands of applications out there. Most, I imagine, will work. I'm sure there are some that will choke.
