[SOLVED] Upgrade question

Hello, I want to buy the I9 9900k, will this fit on a Z270f gaming board? Or should I upgrade to a newer board for that?

A 9900K needs a 300 series motherboard (Z390 for out of the box compatibility and overclocking etc).

Will I see an improvement in system performance if I upgrade the motherboard to a Z390? Or will this not have any reasonable improvement over the older Z270F?

P.S.: Will the I9 be bottlenecked by a GTX 980 TI SC, or can I still hold off on upgrading my GFX card?

You'll see the difference in the sense than a Z270 will not work with a 9900K at all and a Z390 will?

An i9 can certainly pair well with much more powerful GPUs than a 980TI - but a 980TI is no slouch, even 4 1/2 years after launch. You're looking at roughly 1070 levels of performance, so I'd say you can hold off upgrading the GPU a while yet.
