[SOLVED] Upgrade question

Solution
I think they are the best
Take some time to read reviews of AMD Ryzen, especially the 3600/3600x/3700x. Many Intel fans have made the switch.

However now is not a good time to upgrade. With both AMD & Intel launching next generation CPU’s soon. The 9700k is about to be superseded by i7’s that have 8 cores and 16 threads unlike the 9700k which is 8 cores and 8 threads. Another way of looking at it is the current i9 becomes an i7 and the i9 is getting an increase to 10 core 20 threads. The current i7’s will be similar to the next gen i5’s. This clearly a response to AMD currently be a much better price to performance offering.

Depends on games, resolution/details and frame rates. Your new intended system would open the door for more powerful graphics cards but see how you go first with the 1060 in there.
1920x1060 low settings, always looking for high frames, dont want to blow $400-500 on a new card if i dont have to.

thank you

See first, the 1060 can only give you what it's capable of. A stronger cpu will show improvements but by how much, is not going to be known until you play. There's not any benchmark sites testing low details to have an idea what to expect.

Im thinking about upgrading my system, I now have an I7 2600k with 16gb of ram and a NVidia 1060 video card, if I go to this Intel Core i7-9700K Coffee Lake 8-Core 3.6 GHz (4.9 GHz Turbo) LGA 1151 (300 Series) 95W with a new board and the proper ram would my 1060gtx bottleneck the system or do I need to upgrade that also? Its only is gaming btw

thank you
My opinion is you get a 3700x, 2x8 GB 3600/3200 mhz ram ClL 16, with a new board along with a 1660 super. This should all be under 1000$ by a good amount.
