Hi All, Happy Christmas and New Year!
I'm looking for some advice to upgrade my system as it's a bit old, however I don't have the money to do everything, so I'm looking as to what would be the best way to spend my money. A new GPU is out of the question as I can't afford one and don't game at the level that would need a newer one (I think).
My current system is i5-6600K @3.5GHz, Asus Z170K, 8GB DDR4, MSI GTX 1070 and a hybrid main HDD for system programs etc. I'm using Win 10 as this CPU isn't supported by Win 11.
Would I get the best value by either:
A - Replace motherboard and CPU only, with Ryzen 5 5600X and compatible motherboard, Win 11 but otherwise leave everything else as is.
B - Keep CPU etc, upgrade to either 32 / 64GB DDR4 RAM and replace hybrid drive with M2 SSD (Crucial C5 Plus 1TB).
Both would currently cost around £350-400 and that's the most I can really spend at the moment.
Thank you in advance for your thoughts / advice and hope you all have a very Happy New Year!!! David
