Hi,
The PC is used purely for gaming, resolution 3440x1440p

Currently my build is:
MOBO: asus tuf x570
CPU :Ryzen 3700x
GPU : EVGA RTX 3080
cpu cooler: noctua nh u12s
RAM : g.skill 16gb 3600mhz
PSU: EVGA G2 supernova 750w

I play pretty well without too many compromises, but in view of the new releases, I was thinking of changing video card as I think the 10gb of vram could limit me. I was thinking of taking the radeon 7900xt for 850 euros. Is it worth it?or am I going to compromise in the next 2 years and wait for the new releases?

thanks.

Instead of spending 850 EUR because you think you might be compromised over the next two years, why not wait and see if that actually happens?

Worldwide pandemics aside, it's a general rule of thumb that whatever card you buy now will be cheaper in the future, or there'll be a more powerful card for the same money as now. As long as you're happy with what you're playing you should stay with what you have, and only upgrade once you've playing games and not enjoying them so much.

don't. 3080 is a very good card still, it has years left for 1440p and even some 4k with upscaling options
if you can play games you like right now then keep playing them until the gpu cant keep up with a newer game
