Question Upgrade RX480

Hello all,

I need to upgrade my gpu. I have been using a RX480 4Gb to play at 1080 60hz but I have recently purchased an AOC 1440p 75hz freesync monitor and the card struggles to keep up.

It goes together with a i7 4770k @3.9ghz

The budget is about 300€. Could increase a bit. It'll be mostly for p3d and xplane11, and I can wait for some time if something interesting is coming up.

Any advice?

What power supply do you have? The Vega 56 is really the best price to performance at this pricepoint, but it sucks power.

Not great but not terrible, should be ok with the Vega 56 but you may want to undervolt the GPU. This will help not only with the PSU but should lower temps as well. You may even get a higher overclock from the GPU later on.

A CS650m should be ok with a VEGA56. I think the VEGA 56 is still the best fit and best performance for your budget.

I wouldn't recommend extreme overclocking on that PSU tho since it is rather old.

If there is no other option (rtx 2060 is 80€ up in price) I'll order it this week.

Just one last question? It is worth going for the Sapphire Pulse version for 10€ more? I can get it in a local dealer.

I actually like the Powercolor Red Dragon over the Sapphire Pulse, cooling seems better and I've heard that the fans are pretty quiet.
