Upgrade Suggestion Help!

So I currently have a I7 3770k with a ga-z77-d3h motherboard. (Which is not compatible with sli, and I would like to have that feature with my nvidia gpu.) Which motherboard and cpu would be good for sli and gaming performance for the next gen (dx 12 era)? My budget will be around the $200- $500 range. Oh and I am selling some parts if you are interested (So I can get some more cash to add to this upgrade before the school year starts.) THANK YOU!

Look at the Broadwell i5s and try to find a good deal, now that skylake is out. I know that the i5 4690k and 4690 (overclockable and non-overclockable respectively) are very popular among gamers right now. As far as motherboards go, look at a z97 or z87 for the "k" variant and a h97 or h87 or the non "k". Try to find the most features for the least money by a respected/trusted brand in the form factor of your choice.
