Question Upgrade suggestions?

Trying to figure out the best bang for my buck for my next upgrade. I have about $400 to spend right now.
Fortnite and Kingdom Come Deliverance are probably the two most graphic intensive games I play.

Current PC specs:
i5-12400
Asus Prime B660-Plus D4
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4 3200MHz
MSI GTX 1070 Ti - 8GB
Samsung 860 EVO SSD - 500GB
LG W2353V 23" FHD display

These are the upgrades I'm considering:
New monitor - 27"+ QHD
New video card - 2070, 3060?
New SSD - 970 EVO 1TB to upgrade to NVME or maybe a 980 Pro for PCIe gen 4?
More RAM - increase to 32GB

I'm not set on Nvidia for GPU.
Not sure what GPU model is appropriate based on my other specs.
Not sure if my 1070 will do 1440p 144hz at decent framerates.
Should I bother with G-Sync?
Other suggestions are welcome too. Thanks!

If those are the only games we're talking about, I'd go for a 1440p monitor. Yes Variable Refresh Rate is fantastic (GSync Compatible, FreeSync). Also, having >60Hz will be a major upgrade.

GPU upgrade seems pointless if the current monitor is retained.

16GB of RAM is plenty
SSD...Depends on if you're running out of space for games/programs.

Your motherboard will not run at gen 4 speeds, so a 980 pro is a bit of a waste. Graphics card is going to give you the biggest leap, in performance. A 6700xt or 3060ti would be within your $400 budget. Need to know make/model of the power supply first, though. If it is not of sufficient quality and wattage, it will need replaced first.

This is from ASUS's website:

Intel® B660 Chipset
M.2_2 slot (Key M), type 2242/2260/2280/22110 (supports PCIe 4.0 x4 mode)

I'm definitely leaning towards graphics card or maybe monitor. Don't remember my power supply info off the top of my head but I will double-check on it before buying a GPU, thanks for the reminder.

I’d suggest 6700xt. 3060ti is good as well. I’m pretty happy with my 6700xt. Another update you could do is pick up a 2tb sata ssd. That might put you over budget though.

But for a games/storage drive that would be nice. As far as going to a gen 4 nvme drive I don’t know if you would see a big difference anyway even if your board did support it. It would be nice but even sata ssds are pretty quick and mostly you may see a difference in benchmarks possibly.

Another way to approach this, and you don’t have to go with refurbished just saw this one.

27 inch 165hz 1440p monitor

Maybe get a monitor and a gpu like the 6700xt then sell the 1070. But that might be out of reach. When I went to 1440p that was a good visual update.
