I have a secondary pc that I built in 2014. Inevitably it's the pc I'm stuck using as my daughter has laid claim to my just built $1500 rig.
It has a haswell pentium, 8 gigs of speedy ram, and a corsair 450w psu with a 10 year warranty. Currently it's running an hdd and integrated graphics, but I have an rx560 and an ssd ready to install.
My question is should I spend $140 and replace the pentium with a new haswell 3.4ghz i3, or a reconditioned 3.3ghz i5, or not put a dime into it and run it another year before scrapping it?
I don't do much heavy lifting on this pc. No intense gaming, though I was thinking of playing civ6 on it.
