Upgrade time. From AMD to Intel and lost!

Heya folks. I'm trying to upgrade the old PC and I for the life of me can't find witch mobo I want or should get.

Here what I have
(x2) G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
Cooler Master Hyper 212
Gigabyte Radeon HD6950OC 1GB
Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ST3500413AS 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s
And a Antec 850 watt PSU. (Can't remember the modle)

And what I'm replacing is
ASUS M4A79XTD EVO AM3 AMD 790X ATX
AMD Phenom II X4 840 3.2GHz Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core

Now I wanna go to Intel and get this PC buttoned up for the next 2 years. A SSD and second card are in my future too. But the Bang for buck has to be there. Cause I'm on SSI this PC has to do me til 2013. I do the MMO and tons of single player games. Awaiting Tor, Skyrim and wanna play Rage.

So I know a I5-2500K, I want to OC to 4ghz and I want a Gigabyte or Asus mobo or other chaeper alternative. Closer to 300 bucks (2500k included) would be best.

So what say ya? Thanks for any help you can offer.

Hi, I just have to second rolli59's suggestion. it puts you a little over your $300 but it has all the future-proof goodies (PCI-E 3.0, USB3, Lucid)

Whoah, when did it? I was looking at the original in April when I was building my comp but I decided against it as I wanted SLI so I went with the Extreme4.

ha, theres probably more than a couple extreme 4 owners who feel slightly burned. ah well, cant complain too much. we got a great mobo back when we needed. ive wasted 50 bucks on worse things 😉

Ok folks. I really apreciate the help. Never done a asrock mobo but I'm trusting ya'lls word! So It has been ordered. Newegg even had a 15 buck off code for the 2500k. I shall mark rolli59 suggestion as best answer and thank each of you for the help!
