Upgrade..Time!

Hey guys, i'm looking to upgrade at the moment my system is:

AMD Phenom II X4 810 2.6Ghz
8GB DDR2 6400 Ram (Kingston Cheap)
Xpertvision (Palit now) Nvidia 9800GT 512mb DDR3
ASRock K10N78 AM2+ Motherboard
Hyper 212 Coolermaster
2x Western Digital Blue Caviar RAID 0 320GB HDD
Cheap 550W Power Supply (I know needs upgrade!)

So i'm looking into upgrading for purposes of Skyrim and BF3. I've also got into editing some game video's using Sony Vegas 10 and Adobe After Effects. I'm also doing Computer Software Engineering at University, so coding with visual studio and eclipse is used on a regular basis.

I'm mainly looking onto AMD, at this moment of time there's not much upgrading to an existing Phenom II platform. However, with the rise of Bulldozer and its mass rumours i'm looking into getting a 900 chipset AM3+ board so I can get the Bulldozer chips and still use my Phenom 810 for the time being.

My budget really is around £500-550 maximum and would greatly appreciate some help, i'm looking into a Nvidia 560Ti just for price to performance ratio being so great and the sheer jump from my existing card will be massive. I'm also currently using a 19" widescreen monitor at 1440x900 resolution.

i would say for the moment, stick with your current pc, gpu upgrade will be nice, at your resolution, the gtx 460 is just enough but for upgrading to a 1920x1080, 560ti will be optimal

Cheers for the reply, just so much new stuff coming out its hard not to take it up ! I can understand the 1440x900 resolution will be minimal with effectiveness. But what about high demanding titles like BF3 and Skyrim it'll be a key factor as well but we'll just have to wait and see!

i think you can go with this route:
1.overclock you cpu.
2.upgrade your gpu
3.then in future if you have money around 600$, make an i52500k or ivy bridge rig which will be a respectable upgrade
