Upgrade to 144hz worth?

So I currently have a 60hz Asus monitor (VX228H) but I'm thinking about upgrading to an Asus VG248QE and use my corrent monitor as a secondary one.

I play some games at more than 144fps (like CS:GO, COD and H1Z1) but I also play games at 60fps that get 80fps max (GTA 5, Witcher 3, BF1).

So, should I upgrade to a 144hz monitor or not since i won't be playing with more than 60 fps in some games. (i have a i7-4790 and GTX 1070)

If you have a PC That can handle it, then go for it. It will feel much smoother than 60fps but do remember that 60fps will feel like crap after going to 144hz

Thank you! I'll probably buy an 144hz! Just one more thing: will I notice the diference by having my 60hz side to side to an 144hz? Would it be annoying?

Very likely, "Yes". Having multiple monitors at different refresh rates is likely to induce dizziness. Your eyes will be trying to sync both refresh rates with your brain. Some people are more affected by this than others. I happen to be very sensitive to these types of issues. Keep this in mind. If you are bothered by this variation, you may have to turn off one monitor when using the other, more or less making this a pointless purchase. If possible, try out a similar setup if you know anyone using such a setup. Also, search the web, lots of commentary about this and potential impacts.

i dont think the 1070 can power 2 FHD monitors in extend mode and maintain playable fps in aaa games. single 144hz for gaming sounds good.

My plan is to play games in the 144hz screen and keep my 60hz as a secondary for OBS and TeamSpeak or Skype. It will only have second plan stuff not games so i don't think it will lag, right?

Unless you're very competitive in CS:GO I don't see a good reason to upgrade to a 144Hz as opposed to a 4k 60Hz. The difference is tremendous, even if you have to dial settings back. Obviously new games will be constraining.

i dont think spending so much on a new monitor now is worth since HDR ones r on their way now. if its possible, wait for them.
