Given the testing that has been done on the RTX 2070 (non overclocked) and the fact that my EVGA GTX 1070 ti FTW2 can still be traded in (within the 90 day window), I am wondering if it's indeed worth it. I used Precision OC and got the 1070 ti to ~1880 MHz under stress, which given the silicon lottery is pretty good.

I think I would have to pay another $100 for the upgrade; I'd appreciate your thoughts.
Oh, I intend to upgrade CPU, MB and RAM next year to i5-9600K if that makes any difference.

Thanks.

You didn't mention your current CPU/Mobo/RAM.

Normally, I wouldn't bother with going from a 1070 Ti to a 2070. But, if you have a 90-day return window that you can still utilize, I would most likely do it. But then again, the 20 series has been suffering from failures. More so with the 2080 Ti than the 2080, and I'm not even sure if any 2070 have been know to fail.

Thanks for the reply; yes, I am thinking mostly of some future proofing.
Current system is ~6 years old.....i7-3770, Asus P8H77-V (no OC), 16GB DDR3.
Over the past few months I updated the PSU, Case and GPU.....figured sometime early next year the rest.

This is the card that they are offering for the step up program.....still worth $120 extra?

Thanks.

the 2080 is roughly the same as a 1080ti. so a 1070ti to a 1080ti is not a huge upgrade overall.

i think you are saying you could upgrade to the 2080 for $100, then linked to the 2080 for $120. if it only costs $120 to move up, then i'd go for it myself. pretty cheap upgrade and sets you up a bit better for a few more years easy. this assumes i understood you correctly.

Thanks for the reply; the upgrade was from a 1070 ti to a 2070, not 2080.

My bad; I linked the wrong board.....here is the correct link.

Still worth it?

you're barely gonna see any difference there. a few fps here and there. i'd not spend $100+ for that move myself. the 2080 would have been a bit better of a jump but still not a whole not, but a 2070 i such a small increase to not really be worth it. my opinion anyway
