Upgrade to Broad well or Sky lake?

I've had an i7 870 for quite some time now. It's fine i replaced the stock cooler with a hyper 212 plus. I've been thinking of upgrading my rig to an overclockable gpu. The problem is should i wait until the broadwell line of cpu's come out or is it not worth it as a new tick is coming out Q2 of next year with Skylake. Is the wait justifiable should i just get the broadwell cpu and swap over to skylake are they going to be running on the same socket? I know most of those questions can't be answered as their is little to now knowledge about skylake any speculation and opinion is welcomed.

It depends how badly you want to overclock. The skylake architecture might not be overclockable at first, so if you wanted to OC a cpu REALLY badly, just get a brodwell.

Yeah so i've heard also being in this entire rat race to find the sweet spot really isn't feasible. I guess i'll just wait for broad well then thanks for the input.
