i have spent ages trying to upgrade the processor from a intel Celeron E3300 @ 2.50GHz to a Core 2 Quad The socket is LGA 775 I believe that it is compatible I need to speed it up as its so slow and I can barely use it I know I should just buy a new set up but I am short on cash at the moment so I have bought a core 2 quad q9450 2.66ghz and a q9550 2.83 ghz and neither is booting up with my build I don't understand why and I have checked all beep sequencing and it is just a continuous beep I get but then I take out the core 2 quad cpu either of them and I put the Celeron e3300 back in and it boots up fine I have fully updated the bios to American Megatrends Inc po1-a4 it is running a intel g41 chip set can someone please help me.

I will attach a picture of the mother board along with the cpu and motherboard information so you can help.

only place you'll get an LGA775 motherboard now is ebay, im in the UK and just had a quick look, some dirt cheap on there: http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR11.TRC1.A0.H0.Xlga775+motherboard.TRS0&_nkw=lga775+motherboard&_sacat=0

To find out what your code means go to google type in " beep codes for motherboard model" and watch the top youtube video.

My go to fix is resetting the CMOS by removing the battery for 10 seconds and placing it back in after that take a screwdriver and place it across the JCMOS pins to establish a connection between the two.

Please make sure the computer is unplugged, turned off, and you are not on anything that generates static electricity before making any adjustments.

The only quad core I can see that board supports is the Q8300, where did you get the bios update from ? (link please)

neither of the above worked the beep s codes doesn't have a continuious one and the only thing I can find about continuious beeps is that its usually the ram and the ram is fine works with the old processor and the new processor isn't loading and its a q8300 which is supposed to be compatible so I am thinking of a new board to put the cpu in and my ddr3 ram any ideas for the cheaper option??
