Alright, here's my situation.
I've been given a chance to trade my GTX 970 + $80 to a GTX 1070.

Should I take the deal, or wait for GTX 1100 series?

If I take the deal:
- nice 110FPS to Witcher 3 on Ultra
- GTX 1070 won't be THAT cheap once GTX 1100 will be released.

If I don't take the deal:
- nice still 60FPS to Witcher 3 on Ultra
- GTX 970 will be cheap AF but I may have money for the GTX 1100.

✖ PC Parts:
◦ ASUS Z97 Sabertooth Mark S Motherboard
◦ ASUS Strix GTX 970 4GB OC Edition Graphics Processing Unit
◦ Cooler Master Hyper 212X Processor Fan
◦ Cougar SL600 Power Supply Unit
◦ Fractal Design Define R5
◦ Intel i7-4790K 4.0 GHz Processor
◦ Kingston HyperX 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3 1866MHz Memory (RAM)
◦ Samsung SSD 850 EVO Solid State Drive (500GB)
◦ SeaGate Barracuda 7200RPM Hard Disk Drive (500GB)
◦ WesternDigital Black 7200RPM Hard Disk Drive (6TB)

Solution
Agree, with the 1080Ti only just released we won't see the next gen for a while. Nvidia will want to make their money off that first. My guess Q1/Q2 next year.

Go for the GTX 1070. It won't be a while till the GTX 11-series launch (if it will be called that). The GTX 1070 also boasts significant gains over the GTX 970, so it's worth it. Always try to go for newer hardware if you can, rather than futureproofing or waiting for cheaper deals.

My monitor is 60hz. But I hooked up my 4k TV with it.

I heard that the GTX 11-series (or also known as the Volta) will be released by May 2017...?
That's why I'm weighing the pros and cons.

If I wait further, the jump might be more significant than from a GTX 1070.

(Money is a slight problem, I am not rich nor poor. I just save up a lot.)
