Is the R9 300 series worth the wait? It looks promising as I can see it.
However, waiting is not my strong suit and I can get a GTX 970 without waiting.
But I don't want to upgrade only to have an even more powerful, cheaper GPU come out in 2 months.
I'm going to be playing graphically intensive games, such as today's triple A titles mixed along with modeling in 3DS and adobe software.
I am considering upgrading my processor (FX-6300) if I do not get the GTX 970 (I need to spend this money somehow) which I expect to bottleneck the newer cards if I get any.
I currently have an R9 270, 8gb of RAM, an FX-6300, and a 600w power supply.
So, the way I see it, there are 3 choices I can make.
1. Upgrade from FX-6300 to i7-4790k (I do a lot of video processing/audio working/photoshop) and wait for the next generation R9 300 series
2. Upgrade to the GTX 970 right now from a R9 270(but I have to use an FX-6300 with it)
What should I do and why?
