Greetings, Ladies and Gentlemen.

Ryzen 5 1600
Fatal1ty AB350 Gaming K4 (four DIMM slots)
Team Elite Plus DDR4 PC21000 2666Mhz Dual Channel 8GB (2x4GB) 19-19-19-43.
Two DIMM slots used, two vacant.

Question: with the same brand, 2666Mhz speed and 19-19-19-43 factory timing.

1. Can I upgrade to quad channel by adding more Dual Channel 8GB (2x4GB) > total 16GB?

2. Also, can I even upgrade to quad channel by adding different capacity, like Dual Channel 16GB (2x8GB) > become 24GB, or even 32GB (16GBx2) kit? Just in case there will be clearance sale. Thank you very much.

*Ryzen 5 1600 AMD site stated that it support 2 channel memory, but I'm still curious.

Solution
the Ryzen 1600 with all 4 slots populated will run in a dual dual channel.

For true quad channel you would have to move over to Threadripper or intels 2011 socket. The mainstream AM4 and 1151/1200 only run in dual channel.

You also have to watch mixing kits, even if they are from the same manufacture and spec'ed the same they might not work together.

ALL Ryzen CPUs are dual channel. Could you put 4 DIMMs? Maybe. First generation Ryzen was much more picky about RAM.
You will be better off buying a 2x8GB matched set of DIMMs and continuing to use just two memory slots. You will get higher stable memory clock with two DIMMs.

I see. Even if it's possible to put 4 ram together, it's not Quad Channel.
Seems like I'll not go for Threadripper, but thanks for the advice.

So, what do you both suggest, should I take the factory 2667mhz (CL19-19-19-43) or 3200mhz (CL22-22-22-52)?
Right now I'm using the 2667mhz factory because AMD said R5 1600 support it, but I OC'ed it to 3200mhz.
The price are not too different in my place right now, both are dual kits.

And besides gaming, I'm using my PC for photo and video editing, and next I want to learn some like Blender or Autocad.
