I have an AMD A8 7600 CPU in my HP Pavilion 500-314 which has the Radeon R7 graphics integrated with it. What would be better, buy a Nvidia 1050 GPU to go with my current motherboard and CPU or upgrade to the Ryzen 3 2200 or Ryzen 5 CPU? It looks like I would have to replace the motherboard as well because it isn’t Ryzen ready. I priced the Ryzen 3 2200 at $95 and a compatible motherboard at $65 for a total of $160. I can pick up an Nvidia 1050 or 1050 ti for $150-$200. What would get me the most bang for my buck if I’m trying to edit and make 4K, 2.7K, and 1080p videos?

NOTE: I am also upgrading to 24 GB RAM and putting a 256 GB SSD drive in for boot and video processing files.

If you are going to be editing HD/QHD/UHD videos in significant quantities, then you really should be aiming for at least a Ryzen 1600, preferably 1700. A Ryzen 2200 won't cut it if you want remotely reasonable video processing times.

Also keep in mind that Ryzen requires DDR4, so you'll have to re-purchase memory from scratch.
