Upgrade to windows 8.1 for BATTLEFIELD4

I have windows 7 (in not so legal way) and thought of upgrading to Windows 8.1 to get better performance on the battlefield.

What I want to know is, is it worth it?

ANDD ALSO, will I keep all my files at excactly the same locations they were in W7?

Like do i have to go trought my computer to find my files, or will all of them be in the same spot they were in w7?

I dont want to rearrange and set my files to where they were before upgrading to w7

I actually updated 2 days ago to 8.1. It was kinfd of a pain one of the windows updated caused my pc to get a back sceen afterit loads windows . A strtup repair fixed it but removed all the programs i installed in 8.1 since you will not have your old programs installed after the upgrade.

For me i only upgraded to to and see if it helped bf4 with my contant crashes but everyone seems to be having the same problem as me when you ask on bf3. Its a known issue. As far as a performance increase you may only see a tiny difference in performance if any.

Since you have a not so legal Win7 install, you'll need a full reinstallation. It won't 'upgrade'

Prepare just to reinstall everything.
And as always....before a major change like this, have ALL of your critical personal files backed up elsewhere.

Buy a legal copy of your OS, and you'll have far fewer issues.
And thus ends my contribution to this.
