Hey guys, so in the past idk 6 months my (old) PC has been strugling with simple Esport titles like Valorant. I am currently on I3 7100 and 1050Ti & 16Gb DDR4 2400. And I have a question is the Ryzen 5 5600X worth the money? Since I dont play many AAA games. Also i've seen that Ryzen has way more FPS in Competetive games. So my question is.

Is the cpu worth the money (I have the money for it)?

Are you looking at buying a whole new system with a 5600X, or at least both a CPU and motherboard? You can't just install a 5600X into an Intel motherboard. The same goes for newer Intel CPUs, as the 8000-series and up (that increased core counts at each price level) also require different motherboards. The 5600X would also perform its best with faster RAM.

On your existing motherboard, a 4-core, 8-thread i7-7700 or 7700K could potentially be worth considering, but they offer fewer cores and threads compared to some newer processors that cost less while offering similar performance per core.

What's your budget and what country are you located?

Your GTX1050 Ti is going to limit performance, but, the R5-5600 is one of the most sought after CPUs right now, and you'd be set for years CPU-wise, and, be sitting pretty looking for a GPU on sale...(we can dream!)

(As noted above, you'd need a compatible AM4 mainboard, and, some faster DDR4 would be best.)

The i3-7100 is definitely limiting you......

Im only looking to upgrade my cpu mb and ram. I know I need to get everything new, but since the GPU market is out, I was considering to just upgrade my cpu since ITS stressful to see the I3 struggle even with simple stuff..... I'm in Czech republic and if say Ill have around 500-600$ at max

And why the I5? I looked it up, and I saw that 6th gen ryzen should be the last AM4 compatible CPUs unlike intel that wants to have 12th gen on new MB. I have a cooler already, didnt point that out. Silentium PC Fera 3 HE1224 V2

AMD's new platform that includes DDR5 along with a new socket will not be AM4 compatible from everything I've read. You posted a budget ($500 - $600) and I posted the best hardware including cpu that fits that budget .. I even posted a link to the review on that cpu.

AMD Socket AM5 an LGA of 1,718 Pins with DDR5 and PCIe Gen 4

So as I see it. The I5 11400f is the best budget cpu? Even though ill lose some fps on esports titles? I dont mind since i dont have 144hz monitor. If so then i guess ill get the Intel one.

And also does buying faster ram really matter that much for fps??

3200Mhz CL16 is the ideal RAM for Intel 10th and 11th gen cpu's in regards to Frames Per Second (FPS).
