Upgrade Transferring of files

So a few months back i decided to upgrade to windows 8 as i am in the Microsoft Dreamspark program and received it for free, but when i upgraded from windows 7, it left all my old files in the windows.old folder. I was wondering if there is a quick easy way to transfer all the old files to windows 8 or is it just transferring manually as the best option?
