Upgrade Windows 8 Evaluation to Windows 10

Hello,
I am building a computer, and want to install Windows. I do not want to buy Windows 8, as there has been speculation that Windows 10 will be cheaper. Therefore, I want to install a Windows 8 Evaluation, and upgrade to Windows 10 without losing any of my files/programs. Is this possible? If not, what should I do? I will really want to keep all of my programs, so can you suggest any image backup solutions, or registry workarounds?

Which OS do you have and is it 32 or 64 bits?

you better install windows 10 technical preview and change the update settings to slow build
by then it will be easy for you
