Hello guys,
After 7 long years of having the following setup I'm ready for an upgrade based on the AMD Ryzen 7600.
My goal is playing AAA games at 1080p.
My budget is around 800 dollars.

This is what I have as today :
- MSI B150 Gaming M3
- Intel Core i5-6500 3.20 GHz
- Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060 6 GB
- 16 GB RAM DDR5 (2 x 8) Corsair
- SSD SATAAcKingston 960 GB (to be reused)
- HDD 500 GB
- PSU EVGA 750W (to be reused)

I would appreciate all your suggestions.

Thanks

You can't have DDR5 but DDR4 so for Ryzen 7600 you will need new RAM too. I would suggest 2x16GB 5200/6000MHz.
Ryzen 7600 is not power demanding so any MB with b650 chipset would do. There are also a620 chipset MBs but are not much cheaper and with restricted BIOS
Once you find prices of those components, for rest of money look up GPU in that price range Practically any GPUs from latest ones would be much better than 1060.

Here's one for $820 /w optional RAM upgrade or $835 with a 2Tb SSD upgrade.

You can keep your RAM, though if you can list the exact model number, i can check for compatibility. The Lumina kit is fast and compatible, so it's an option.

The Montech case is the cheapest decent case i can think of and it comes with fans included.
Spend money on a Fractal Meshify if you want a super nice case.

Consider also a RX 7800XT - https://pcpartpicker.com/product/rf...-rx-7800-xt-16-gb-video-card-rx7800xt-cl-16go

It's more money but a lot more performance. Also capable of 1440p which you may not be able to take advantage of. 4060 is ok for 1080p but will struggle with the most demanding AAA games.

Honestly, I would give Intel a look, for a budget rig, unless you really think you will do a CPU upgrade, over the life of this system. What parts exactly do you intend to buy with this budget?
Even if upgrading a CPU. The top choice for intel's current gen is i7 14700K or i9 14900KS. Start with something smaller for $800, upgrade in a few years.

This is all brand new, for $820
Upgrade in ~2 years to i7 14700K & 7900GRE or 4070 Ti Super. It will do 1440p AAA games.

Alternatively, start with a 12600K & CPU tower cooler, but drop the extra 2Tb SSD space:

I would rather have the storage. The 12400 isn't slow.

^You could go with a regular old Thermalright phantom spirit and save 40 bucks.

Yes, i agree but it doesn't seem to be in stock.
Also, coolers like the Noctua NH-D15 are for life, so sometimes it's worth paying for a premium one. I don't know the Dark Rock personally but i've yet to read a bad word about it.

Peerless Assassin or Phanotm Spirit EVO are no-brainer choices for a budget, and they perform well.
EVO is worth paying a few extra bucks for - https://pcpartpicker.com/product/BR...-evo-69-cfm-cpu-cooler-phantom-spirit-120-evo

You're right, about the ram. It was a typo. Thanks. I was in doubt about those chipset differences.

Hey guys,
Thank you all for your answers amd suggestions, They have been great for my research.
I would like your thoughts on this set up now please. Also please consider I'm not from the US, Some of the items I can order from Amazon with free shipping to my country (still having to pay taxes though) and some others I can find in my country at a similar price. So adding taxes it will go up as near as $1000 which is why I would appreciate suggestions if I can save some bucks without the risk of bottlenecks. Also after the purchase I won't plan to upgrade for at least 5 years, so future proofing is also important to me.

Thanks! 0

^ the gigabyte B650-k is a very basic mobo with 8 phase VRM. if you can, choose a mobo with beefier VRM.

You can also drop down to 7600 instead of the 7600X, saves some cash for the mobo. When you enable PBO the 7600 non X boosts close to 7600X. you wont be loosing much performance.

You need 6000mhz CL30 ram kit. ryzen needs fast and tighter timing rams for best performance, especially if you dont have 3D cache.

look for 6000 CL 30 or 6400 CL32 kits.

It's good. I would make a few changes

This RAM is faster and cheaper: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/H9...b-ddr5-6000-cl30-memory-ctced532g6000hc30dc01

You might want to buy this GPU instead: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/ds...-rx-7600-xt-16-gb-video-card-rx-7600-xt-16g-f

As for the motherboard, it's fine for the Ryzen 7600X. Not great but for a cheap motherboard it's pretty good.
The Eagle is a little more expensive and has a 12 Phave VRM instead of a 4+4 Phase on the K.
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/CvcgXL/gigabyte-b650-eagle-ax-atx-am5-motherboard-b650-eagle-ax

If you're sure you're not going to upgrade the CPU in the future, the K is enough. But an Eagle or AsRock Riptide, or a MSi B650-P would be improvements. MSi Tomahawk as well.
The Gigabyte B650M K is cheap. Just so you know. It's not terrible but most mATX boards are not going to be very nice at that price.
