what are you attempting to gain?
both are lcd monitors. one is ccfl backlit the other is led backlit. in edge-lit designs (most of them) there is no difference except that in cheap monitors the leds can turn the image a blue-ish hue.
keep in mind what type of lcd panel you have (tn, va, ips...) as this will play a part in any perceived quality issues. tn panels have poor viewing angles and gradients compared with lets say... a higher end ips panel (not e-ips).
the move from 22 to 24 inches at the same resolution will not get you any more screen real estate if you stay at the same resolution. everything will appear bigger yes, but also less "crisp" as you're going to be sitting about the same distance away but the pixels will be bigger.

so is it worth it? its a personal decision but if you match 2-3 of the following points it might be worth thinking about.
-your current monitor is over a few years old or out of warranty.
-you want to upgrade from a tn panel to something nicer.
-text and graphics are hard to see on the 22 inch due to bad vision.
-your current monitor ghosts in games and you want this fixed.
